European Film Awards 2012

December 1st, 2012 - Graham Eley

Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or winner, ‘Amour’, has had further success tonight by dominating the European film awards.  Apart from claiming top European film, there were wins for Michael Haneke as best director and Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva in the best actor and actress categories.  Although one of the favourites to take the Oscar for best foreign language film, Palme d’Or winners have tended to miss out during recent years.
