Gotham Independent Film Awards 2012

November 27th, 2012 - Graham Eley

Two early award season favourites, ‘The Master’ (Paul Thomas Anderson) and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ (David O. Russell), both left the Gotham Independent Film Awards empty handed.  Wes Anderson’s popular Cannes opener, ‘Moonrise Kingdom’, claimed the top prize and festival hit, ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’ saw Benh Zeitlin take best new director.  The audience award went to ‘Artifact’, the directorial debut feature from the musician-turned-actor, Jared Leto.
