Kansas City Film Critics Circle 2012

December 17th, 2012 - Graham Eley

The late success of Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master’ during the critics’ section of the awards season continued with it receiving best film, supporting actor (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and original screenplay from the Kansas City Film Critics Circle.  Ang Lee won best director for ‘Life of Pi’ and remains a serious contender for an Oscar nomination in the same category.  Daniel Day-Lewis (‘Lincoln’) and Jennifer Lawrence (‘Silver Linings Playbook’) took the honours for best actor and actress respectively and both are a shoo-in for Oscar nods.  Bart Layton’s festival favourite ‘The Imposter’ won best documentary.
