International box office (January 25-27, 2013)
‘Django Unchained’ grossed $43.1m from 64 markets to retain the top spot at the international weekend box office. Quentin Tarantino’s controversial Western had strong No 1 holds in Germany and France after grossing $7.9m and $6.8m respectively. It currently stands at $111.6m internationally after two weekends in play.
‘Skyfall’ registered again at the top end of the international chart after opening in China over the weekend. The 23rd James Bond movie grossed an astonishing $36.6m in the territory to take its overall international tally to $776.6m.
This weekend’s North American No. 1, ‘Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters’, returned an impressive $25.3m from 20 territories during its second international weekend. Paramount’s action fantasy currently stands at an early $36.3m. GE 29 January 2013
