Universal cashed in at the North American weekend box office when its home-invasion thriller ‘The Purge’, starring Ethan Hawke and Lena Headley, claimed the No. 1 spot with an outstanding $36.4m.  The three-day return equals a jaw dropping twelve times the film’s production budget and follows a strong social media campaign ahead of the release.  It is James DeMonaco’s second feature, following ‘Staten Island’ four years ago.

Last weekend’s No. 1, ‘Fast & Furious 6’, grossed a further $19.8m to complete a fine weekend for Universal. It was enough to take the car action thriller over the $200m mark domestically after three weekends in play.

Louis Leterrier’s ‘Now You See Me’ was close on its heels in third place after earning $19.5m on the back of last weekend’s strong opening.  The bank heist thriller now stands on $61.4m domestically.

The other wide weekend release, ‘The Internship’, starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, finished the three days on $18.1m.  Shawn Levy’s comedy failed to push on after receiving a higher than expected ‘B+’ CinemaScore on Friday.buy domperidone new zealanddomperidone gastroparesis motilium cheapdomperdone purchase motiliumdomperidone canada motilium buy uk
