International box office (February 22-24, 2013)

‘A Good Day To Die Hard’, starring Bruce Willis, retained its top spot at the international weekend box office after grossing $35.7m in 67 territories.  The action thriller took its running total to $133m during its second weekend in play, with a new release in France having the highest return of $5.5m.


Peter Jacksons’ ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ opened in China much later than most markets and grossed an impressive $17.8m.  The Middle-earth adventure has now earned $679m internationally.


‘Les Miserables’ continued its strong international performance, grossing a further $9.3m during the weekend.  Tom Hooper’s musical adaptation should cross the $250m mark during the next few days.
