International box office (January 11-13, 2013)

‘Life Of Pi’ had little competition at the international weekend box office where it comfortably retained the No 1 position.  Ang Lee’s sea epic, boosted by 11 Oscar nominations, added a further $33.2m to its overall tally, which now stands at an impressive $357.4m.  It was active in 67 markets and boasted second weekend No 1 holds in Russia and Australia.


‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ continued its strong international performance, holding on to second place during its fifth weekend in play.  Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth adventure passed the $600m milestone after grossing a further $26.1m over the three days.


Golden Globe winner of best comedy/musical, ‘Les Misérables’, was hot on its heels, returning $25.5m during the weekend for a new international running total of $115.1m.  It grossed an outstanding $13.4m on its UK debut being Universal’s third most commercially successful opening in the territory.ampicillin rash ampicillin injection ampicillin for acne ampicillin capsules
