International box office (January 18-20, 2013)

Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’, exceeded expectations by grossing $48.1m to claim the top spot at the international weekend box office.  The controversial Western opened in 54 markets, with Germany having the highest return on $9.6m.

Ang Lee’s multi-Oscar nominee, ‘Life Of Pi’, continued its strong performance in second place, adding a further $20.7m over the three days.  The sea adventure now stands at $393.9m internationally and should cross the $400m mark today.
